Kris: The experts say lower gears for all the offset tractors don't exist. I have a Super A, 130 and 140. I am positive the 130 is geared lower than the other 2. I have no hard evidence to prove this just working the tractors. I used to have the SA and 130 calibrated for spraying, and in 1st gear full throttle both tractors traveled the same feet per minute. I don't have a tach on either, 130 however does rev higher. The 130 has 12.4 x 24 tires whereas SA has 9.5 x 24 tires and that alone would make a substancial difference. Those 12.4 tires stand 4-5" higher than 9.5 do. There is also what IH called a hydra creeper device for these tractors. Basically tractor would have to be equiped with a remote hydraulic valve. From there it was just a hydraulic motor hooked to PTO. With pto engaged and clutch pedal depressed this unit would transfer power through pto and to wheels in any gear. Below I will include part of speed chart from 130 manual. these are no load speeds. GEAR----------------miles per hour ----------------hydra-------------regular 1 st------------.27----------------2.3 2 nd-----------.42----------------3.7 3 rd-----------.55----------------4.8 4 th----------1.10---------------10.0 Under load these figures drop a fair bit, There is also a max pull chart for each gear. Looking at those figures it sounds as this hydra creeper gear was not very efficient. There is more info in my manual, if interested e mail me I can get it all for you.

In the rural area he grew up in, the highlight of the week was Saturday when many people took a break from their work to go to town. It was on one such Saturday in the early 1940's when Sam was 16 years old that he ended up in Dennison, Kansas to watch a demonstration of a new tractor being put on by a local dealer. It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership,
