When I was a dumb teenager I got one of my grandfather's Farmall 350D's stuck at my parents' place. I had learned from a bad man that if I would lay a log across in front of the hind wheels, hook a chain to one end, run the chain through the spokes of the wheels, and hook the other end of the chain to the other end of the log, then the wheels couldn't spin. The tractor would lift itself up over the log and be out, guaranteed. Or, just as likely, be upside down on top of me.
Not nearly so risky as telling a grown-up I'd gotten the tractor stuck, though, right?
