Not sure if you have mis-understanding or if you worded what you said wrong. K.B. and Gary have good point. Should start and warm up on gas and then switch to kero or distillate. Also needs to be switched back to gas for shut down or they are basically impossible to start with kero in carb. Gary has good point. You will probably want to run on gas all the time. Since you say it needs paint but runs good I assume it is un-restored but in descent mechanical shape. $1800 sounds high to me. I have a late 1936 (red paint) F-20 with good paint, new front tires, good rear tires, good mechanical shape that I consider worth around $1000. I would say the $1800 would be the upper end for one that is completly restored (mechanically overhauled and new paint). Somebody else posted that you can spend more fixing one up, and that is true. The problem is getting your invested money back out of it, which is unlikely.
