Soundl like they put a chain around the tire to keep it from slipping when trying to lift the plow out of the ground. The "gearbx on the left wheel is the lift mechanism. There is alever attached to it that a rope goes in. pull the lever and the plow will drop into the ground, and pullagain and it will raise the plow when moving foreward. One of the other levers is for depth control, and the one hooked to the right wheel is to level the plow to make the first pass without a furrow, and then again when plowing with the wheel int he furrow.
