american bosch ZR-4 ED28 Magneto on McC-D 10-20

I have an American Bosch ZR-4 ED28 Magneto on my McCormick-Deering 10-20. It had been running great but suddenly I have only a very weak intermittent spark that I can only get while bench testing. I have cleaned up all of the contacts, etc... but with still no luck. My points aren't great but are clean and make good contact. I noticed the carbon contact that screws into the base on the bottom of the mag on the end with the points is fairly short but looks like it should still be touching. Any clues on how to test the magnets, armature, etc... I'm stumped.
