Farmall 460 - steering issues.

Seems that my 460 has all of a sudden developed half a turn slop in the steering. It has power steering and the shafts down to the power steering unit are tight. My thought is that the worm gear has take a vacation. I see that the frame rail needs to be removed to get at the power steering unit. under the front bolster. I have never had to take a front bolster apart. If I'm only taking one side off, do I need to block up the front end? The maintence manual is not clear on the removal procedures. Also is their any hidden gottachs when you remove this unit? Where is the best place to get replacements?
