Rebuilt the injection pump on my 460 last year. The cover will come off without anything flying out on you. You will get some fuel. Once that is off there will be a black hook called a walking cane ( it is on the left side of the shaft inside the pump) take a pair of pliers and pull it off the shaft. Now you can pull the shaft out. Take note of where the center metal piece is that goes to the large springs. There are 2 different groves it can go in. Just take notes as you take things apart. You will also see the slot where the walking cane goes is once you get the shaft out. Sometimes when you go back together this cane will be lose. Just take a pair of pliers and bend it back together a little. It not a hard job to do just draw you a couple of pic so you know how to put it back together. Hope I did't confuse you too bad. Also MAKE SURE you don't get any dirt in the pump. Clean it off with gas or something before you start. Tyler
