Yes! I agree with the first reply. If you hook up a "jump" the wrong way around, to a dead tractor and start it up, the charge system with take the polarity of what ya got. This will reverse the battery also. My dad did this during the winter about 20 years ago and the tractor worked into the spring till the battery finally died. The amp gauge had a broken glass and water had frozen the needle. If you try this with a soidstate systen "ALTERNATOR" this kinda makes a whole lot of smoke. Enjoy Jeff
