jody: My first thoughts on seeing your post was I4, being Industrial 4 which in turn is the industrial version of the W4. Then as one of the other guys said could be 14. Does it have the Lowey grill and hood styling. By that I mean a IH letter series built between 1939 and 1954. Go to the photo album of this site to the left of your screen, and compare yours with tractors in photos. On serial number I could look it up, however its more interesting for you if you do it. W4 and I4 will probably be lumped together. Same again go to serial numbers at left of page and follow through either International or Farmall and International or McCormick Deering or Well not Farmall in this case. The oil level is checked by two drain cocks on side of oil pan. Taps are low and full. Your oil fill cap is a large wing nut type device on the right front corner of engine. This cap is about 3" in diameter. Most of what I am saying is assuming I4 and W4. I hope this helps a bit.
