Checking the serial #'s from the left on this board, it looks like #236444 is a 1946 model. This is probably one of the "war paint" models that Seven@nd talks about below. My Uncle came home from WWII & got a vet's preference to buy a '46 H. (It's still in the family.) It faded to the red-orange or yellow color you describe, so I'd guess your's probably still has its original "coat". Lots of the "yellow" ones were repainted in the '50's, I think I read someplace there was a dealer incentive to have them repainted. I'd preserve the color if possible, its a unique part of the IH heritage. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
