Hello! Here we go: All three ports on the side of the pump are pressure our ports. they are designed to allow the oil to be siphoned back in when you release the pump control rod. The weight of the implement will push the oil back into the pump resevoir. If you want to use a seperate return line from the hydralic piston back into the resivoir then plumb that return line into the drain hole in the bottom of the pump housing. The pump can run continously. The correct fluid to use is non detergent 30 weigfht oil, the same as the tractor. You can use hydraulic fluid but...as hyd fluid heats up it thins out and the pump is built with such clearances is tha it can loose pressure in the system. The straight weight oil wioll not. I use my belly pump to run a Saginaw three pint conversion kit on my H. It runs just fine, I routed my return line to the drain as it allows me to have a larger amount of oil in the system. In the future I plan on installing a spool valve with the pump which will allow me pressure both "up" and "down" with the unit. Good Luck and there are a few websites devoted to this conversion. Do a google search under "Farmall H" and you should find it.
