This is proablely to late but worth telling you about, but is not the safest way.In the south before dozer on plantations with slaves would go out and dig hole around each tree cut all roots around let it fill up with water, sometimes carry water to them and let mother nature do it job. With roots cut and ground wet wind would be the dozer.I had a grove of maples in a branch we were using a 450 john dozer it could not move it oe shake them for we were having a problem of standing up for the mud. they were about 10-12 trees grown together proablely 14-16 inches. The operator wanting to winch them I told him if they were there in spring we would winch them but not then. Spring came and those trees were laying on the ground. The problem is someone could walk across your woods and one fall. I do not advise this for if you was to try this and cut the tree first you will have to dig the stump
