My 1955 300 ran fine the other day, then quit starting. The battery is fully charged and I had the solenoid and starter tested. The starter tested bad, so I got a reman 12 volt starter and installed it. My problem is that now it won't turn over. I think I might have connected the cables and wires wrong, but can't remember how they were originally. Can somebody tell me if I am right in the following: 1. positive cable from battery goes to the large solenoid post 2. red wire from alternator attaches to the same large solenoid post as battery cable 3. small (orange) wire from alternator goes on the small solenoid post 4. solenoid attaches to the large post on the starter. Does this sound right, or have I got something crossed? Any help would be appreciated. Anything else I should check out? Thanks.
