Paul, I've done some running on lawns with a Super M with regular tread tires and the damage to dry ground is minimal. You do get some damage when it's wet though. I've seen pictures of an A set up for mowing and it had turf tires so we can assume that it's definately possible. I presume you are mowing in the yard or somewhere that you want to minimize damage. If so then turf tires may be alright for what you want to accomplish. They are not for "real" work though. I ran a small JD with a loader once for a construction company. They had turf tires on it for landscape work. We were closing a landfill. The top of the landfill was covered with 8 inches of clay and at one point I hit a wet spot and slid sideways for 10 feet. After that I managed to get the frontend turned downhill, but I still couldn't stop until the bottom. Those turf tires are just like snowshoes. They maximize your ground contact, but as a result have almost no "dig" so they can't make much traction.
