I just finished putting a small Hitachi #14231 alternator on a W-6. This alternator is the same dia. as the generator and mounts very easly using the U shape bracked on your H. You will need an 8" 3/8" bolt and some pipe or tubing to use for spacers. It will be necessary to enlargen some of the mounting holes to 3/8". Remember this is Hitachi, which means "Metric". This also means that the tensioning bolt on the top is also metric thread. The Alternator is Part #2138130 at NAPA. Cost $49.49 + core. If you go to other than NAPA the alaternator is from a 1978,79 Nissan 620 pickup with a 2 liter engine and a 1980 Nissan 720 pickup with a 2 liter engine The alternator is a three wire unit but can very easly be converted to one (1) wire. There are two (2) spade conections marked S & L and ofcourse a BAT post conection. The L post is for the idot light and can be disregarded. Using a jumper wire connect the S terminal to the BAT terminal and you are good to go. The pully is a split pully and you can make it wider to accomidate the correct width belt by adding a spacer between the two halfs (once again metric)you will also need a disk type lock washer and some locktite as there won't be room to reuse the split lock washer. This is a sweet fit for under the hood mounting. GOOD LUCK
