I drove it about 8 miles in 5th gear last weekend to pull home my latest project, a 48' W9. We pulled the W9 home with the M in 4th gear with a solid tow bar to the front of the W9. Running down the tar road in 5th gear, I could watch the front wheels wobble about an inch each way. Made me a little nervous. I have Char-Lynn power steering on mine, and it has the full round gear. The idea about turning the full gear around to use the un-worn teeth really makes sense.
