Casting codes for the letter series Farmalls begin in 1939 with the letter I, 1940 has letter J, and so on. The letters U, and V, are not used, so a 1950 is letter T, and a 1951 is letter W. These letters of the alphabet were used in conjunction with numbers, which will determine the actual day that any particular component was cast. I am not for sure when the supers were introduced, someone else will have to help out here, but an example of a casting code is 6 24 Y which would be a build date of June 24, 1953. If the tractor is a 1954, the letter would be Z.
