Are you saying it was still locked up when you had the starter off, indeed yes you are. Get a light and take a look in the inspection hole by cultch. How does the presure plate look? Any chance fingers from presure plate are hitting carier or linkage for release bearing. My 130 once got tangled up by fingers on presure plate hitting linkage for release bearing. Tractor was running so it just tore things apart. If this happened as you shut down those items could stop the starter. Next place to look would be a forign object in engine, something broken. Is it making any funnie noises?
