Hugh, I to have many many hours on tractors equiped with mechanical TA. If the low side filled the speed requirement that is where it stayed until the job was finished. The only problem I ever had using the low side continiously on a heavy pull job was that I did't have the availablity to shift on the go to a lower gear. It sure would have been nice If IH had made a direct, over under like Oliver did.
