Biggest problem with dry type A/F's is people service them too frequently. Oil Bath A/F's was probably lack of service. Don't know what to say about Your tractors engine service life Hugh. I didn't conduct the ASAE/SAE tests..... just reporting what the test results were 40 yrs later. Do a search on the Internet on "Air Filters" and see what You find out. I do think it's interesting that NO ONE uses an oil bath air filter anymore on ANYTHING. After I rebuild the engine on My Super H it will have a dry pleated paper filter under the hood no matter what it costs.
