Run it in first gear and listen for a whining sound..if so it will do it in reverse too. Check for breaks/welds in-on-or around the entire front end, the engine block and the drop axle housings. The bottom of the radiator is also the mount for the front end, if it has been dropped in a hole or driven too fast on rough ground the casting will break in that area. Check to see that the hydraulics move smoothly, and are fairly quiet.
