When you get the engine on TDC you have to rotate the drive of the magneto backwards to line up with the drive coupling. Do this with the magneto distributor cap off and turn it backwards by holding the rotor. this will put it on the pre impulse side so the next time around it will be ready to snap at TDC. This should work as long as the magneto is in good shape.
