Farmall A bearings, pistons and rings....

I took the pistons out of the A last night. First question: Three of the bearings have spots that look like the molds weren't filled all the way at the factory or something. It does NOT look like chunks coming off from the bearings wearing. Anybody ever seen anything like that?? Second question: The pistons have a "B" stamped on the top. Does this signify that they came from a "B" kit? I know they use the same parts. Rings: How can you tell, once the motor is apart, if they are any good or need replaced?? TIA Mike
