Just thought I'd pass this on for those of you that aren't aware of the second drain on the 'H' rear end. In my quest to drain all the fluids in my H and replace them with new, clean fluids, I pulled the plug on the back of the rear end and let the fluid flow. First came the quart or two of water, then the milky stuff and finally the old oil. Let it drain over night and then poured in a quart of kerosene to wash out anything left in the bottom. Stuck a telescoping magnet in the drain and fished around with it. Picked up lots of filings, but no pieces of anything. Then I replaced the plug and poured in my new 6 gallons of gear oil. A day or two later I'm looking through one of my manuals and notice a diagram showing a second drain for the rear end, which is in front of the transmission. Went out to the shop and held a coffee can beneath the second drain and cracked open the drain plug. About two cups of water and two cups of milky stuff came out before the new stuff showed up. Luckily the tractor hadn't moved before I discovered the second drain so I got most of the old stuff. Just thought I'd pass this on in case you want to drain all of your rear end oil and like me, aren't aware of the second plug. Fred KS

Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
