Dave: I agree with gene on the flooding. I have a 140 I got just a while back and have been repairing items on this tractor. Tractor hadn't been run for a number of years. I have had it going probably a total of 5 hours during repairs, no problems until yesterday. I filled it with gas about 4 days ago, and I've been expecting this. Lo last evening after about 3 good runs in 3rd gear, the tractor started missing, surging on governor, black smoke, etc. I went around turned gas off at bottom of tank, tractor smooths right out. There must be a lot of gas in there as it takes about 5 min for tractor to stop. I used to do this with SA when before the carb was rebuilt, shuting down at end of day, and didn't want it leaking in shed and it would stop in 1.5 min. What I am getting is very fine particles of rust coming out of fuel tank. Obviously I have float and or needle valve problems . Dang these people who don't use their tractors.
