I recently had my breather plate off to clean the filter. I removed the 2 bolts holding the breather tube to the plate and moved the wires for spark plugs 2,3 and 4 out of the way. I then removed the 4 bolts holding the plate and slipped it upward. It's close quarters there but it can be done. I cut a new gasket from some stock cork material. I then cleaned the filter, the breather plate surface and the block area. Be careful not to have any of the old gasket material fall into the block area when you clean the surface. I put blue RTV gasket maker on the breather plate to hold the gasket in place while I installed the plate. I also put a thin coat on the block and carefully placed the plate. I installed the bolts, breather tube and spark plug wires. It's been running for about 20 hours now and hasn't leaked yet.
