I've done a bunch of poking around on this issue, and most of the answers I've gotten were that there wasn't actually a serial number deliniation on the IH/Farmalls for their demo models. Unlike the John Deere's, which are verifiable via serial number whenever something was changed, it's a lot harder to verify Farmalls unless you have an original showroom floor picture, or still have the old white paint on your tractor. One fellow told me that once folks found out there was actually added antique values to white models, some of the less honest ones would paint their tractors white & try to pass them off as demos. I've got a 1950 demo C, and the only way I could verify it was that the white paint is still under the red that the first owner told the second owner the sale folks painted it before he could take it home. The white's still there under the red which is under the brown rustoleum that went on after that. I've never heard of a demo cub. Good luck!
