Here are a few thoughts I have. Today tractors and implements are just getting bigger in size. At the same time homeowners and weekend warriors are snatching up the compact tractors. That leaves a big gap of good tractors that nobody can use. I have a 706, it can do anything I ask on my few acres. The 806 is a great machine, but may still be popular among the larger farmers. The 1066 is definately still popular as it can put out enough HP to haul larger implements. Personally I would look at the 656, 666, 686, 706, 756, 766 tractors. The smaller ones like the 460 are in a different class in terms of HP and weight. They are also small enough for the yuppie farmers to be interested in. That means that the little ones and the big ones are going to be expensive. The medium ones are there for the taking. I paid $3,000 for my 706 diesel with a loader and removable cab. I rebuilt it and for $5,000 total I have a 70HP diesel tractor that is like new.
