Stay away from the 706. That one seemed to be a problem tractor. The german diesel's are good engines but start real hard in the winter (310 & 358) The other engine 360 & 407 allways seemed to be good engines. I would also look at the 66 and 68 series. The 312, 414, 436 & 466 family of engines were really good. I could never figure out why the 706 had so many problems when it sometimes shared an engine with the 560 and 606.
