I'm just looking at the fact 400 and 450 turned around 1400-1500 for 540 pto and the 560 turned 1800 for 540 pto. I never had that much experience with M, 400, 450, etc. I did have a 560 diesel and in 5th gear they would closely follow my 560 turning at 2,000 rpm so I'm thinking they must be a bit higher speed in gears at some point. The other item I noticed over years is my 560 was slower in reverse, 1st and 2nd than 300 or 656. From there on up I didn't notice a whole lot of difference. These are just some observations, not hard evidence as my neighbor may have had his M turned up in rpm. Never really did an exact comparison on any of those speeds mentioned. Just thoughts that may be worth checking.
