Check the float in the carb, make sure it is letting enough fuel through. Also you may want to check the fuel line make sure everything is running through there also. It sounds like the tractor is running on the fuel in the bowl of the carb and then quiting. Letting it sit for a few minutes allows it to fill back up. Maybe there is not enough flow to keep it supplied when it is taking more fuel under load. My Super M's carb gets frosty and cold to the touch but if you let it sit for 5 minutes and start it again everything is fine the rest of the day. It only does it when it is somewhat cold outside. Hope this helps.
