Kelly C yes I tie the lever on the pump back so it runs all the time. Just run a hose from one side of pump to your spool and back through drain in bottom of pump. Oil will flow through spool only under preasure when needed. Your control valve on your spool will hold loader at any hieght you set it. You can run 3 pt , another clyinder etc without unhooking each one. I have done it run #5 jd mower with loader on tractor raise ond lower 3 pt if needed. Used single action cylinder on mower works just fine. Give me another shout if you need more info. Sorry about spelling etc should have stayed awake at school 45 or 50 years ago might have helped.
