Harold: That 9" specing is interesting, as I have the buyers guide for 75,83 and 84 and all it mentions is the 7.5" spacing. It does show 9" spacing on the 400 series disks. Over the past 3-4 years that I have been coming to YT forums I see some items from time to time that don't match some of what I know about IH. I do know that 40 years ago IH used a different buyers guide in US than in Canada. Back in late 50s early 60s I had a relative that visited from US. His neighbor worked for IH and he used to bring along the US buyers guide. There was not much different but the odd item was different. Of course there were the British tractors, and some of those were never sold in US and some of them were never sold in Canada. The other items I noticed were tillage and seeding equipment built at Hamilton, ON. I believe if I remember correctly there were also differences in mowers and manure spreaders. Some of this was a case of same machine using a different model number in the two countries. There would never be more than 3-4 of these in any given year.
