I am looking at buying my neighbors super A with a 5' belly mower, IH front blade, and a home made sparyer unit for the yard. ok I have know the guy for a long time. He has had the tractor 15 years and it has a cracked block on the mag side that has been welded up, It was broke by tow starting it before he got it. It has been ok for him for 15 years. It looks like the break was bad up around the mag down around the hyd pump and motor mount ear. The repair looks ok and has a support bar bolted up from the bell housing to the front bolts but! How much am I looking at to replace this block if it ever fails? I will just be mowing the grass with it but some day would like to use it for pushing snow. The tractor is complete and has no rear end noise runs great. He wants $2800 for it all. am I nuts for even thinking about it? please give me your opinions! Chad
