Tractor should be warm. Set throttle wide open. turn main jet screw (bottom of carb) in until it runs rough, then out until smooth, perhaps an additional 1/2 turn. Close the throttle and turn idle screw (front of carb) until engine idles smoothly). Turning the idle screw in richens the mixture, the opposite of the main jet. The other screw is the throttle stop screw, which sets the rpm. Adjust it to the lowest rpm that gives a smooth idle. Advance throttle rapidly, and repeat adjustments of necessary. If either the main jet or idle mixture screw do not respond to adjustments, your carb needs cleaning, possible a kit, including needle and seat. Your float may need adjusting also. Timing needs to be correct, that's another story.
