Thanks fellas, The bendix just falls apart, like it just hammers itself to death at the end of its stroke.Breaks the springs, eats the washers and knocks the end ring that holds it all together off the shaft,but the gear looks great. Maybe I'm buying a real cheap (crappy) mail order Bendix and if I buy a rebuilt starter from the same company it may come rebuilt with the same poor quality parts. Perhaps I need to get a better quality from the IH dealer,just wish he was'nt so dang far away!
