Just some info to share with you. I have a 460 that was doing the exact same thing. My heat gauge would show normal and then all of a sudden it would be boiling over. I noticed one day when it happened that the lower radiator hose was collapsed. I bought a new hose and that was cured until the head started blowing compression into the radiator about a month later. Head was warped side to side between a couple of cylinders. I assume the overheating caused the warp and it took a little while to blow the gasket. Hope this helps. By the way my 460 had a 165 degree thermostat. Stan
