I recently purchased an A Farmall made in 1940. It has a point coil ignition system. Wouldn't this tractor have come out with a magneto only? I am basing my reasoning on the 1944 H farmall that my dad recieved on D day 1944, which had a magneto ignition system. I guess my real question is----------Is there a certain year that IH went from magneto to the coil ignition system?? Is this type of change over a big deal when considering the value of a tractor?? Thanks for any advice you have to offer.
