I must comment on this, I have maintained this for years that we could not figure how JD sold anything in those days, I worked at a IH dealer from 1960 on and being a city guy had no background on farms, I have asked a lot of the older farmers why they bought a JD, particularly during WW2, most of them will say it was all they could get and/or they were cheaper. I sure couldnt figure it out, when we would get a used 2 cyl on the lot I thought they were the crudest tractors made. If you didnt have a red one you werent too serious about farming.
