It depends on the tractor were the serial number is, little tractors like the A's an B's have the number on a plate under the seat bracket on left side, also stamped on the engine right side above the number 1 plug. H's an M's have a plate on the left side of the tractor loacted just behind the engine on the clutch housing,as well there is a serial n umber stamped on the block just over number one cylinder. W4's, W6's, W9's have a plate loacated on the left side of the tractor on the under the fuel tank. There are also casting code's on most all the parts of the tractor, these can give you a clue to what type it is an even the year in some case's, I say some case's because someone might have changed out a wheel or a trans tube or even a rear end an put in a different rear end of a new year tractor, but at least it tells you what type of tractor it is an then we can go from there. If you have a picture of the tractor you can send me an email with the picture attached an I can tell you what it is or post it for you If I don't know. Hope this helps you out a little but with not much info the question can't be answered.
