Yes, the engines commonly called the German Diesels were built by IH at their plant in Neuss, Germany. These include the D-179 3-cylinder found in the small British-built utility tractors, the D-206 and D-239 4-cylinders found in bigger British-built tractors and the Farmall 544, also the D-310 and D-358 6-cylinders found in quite a few 06, 26, 56, 86, and 88 series tractors. When IH was bought out, this plant became a part of Case-IH, and they kept on putting the four-cylinder German diesels in the 85 series utility tractors until the early '90's.
