I would look into the 15w-40 choice a little. If the engine is tight & clean internally, OK. But an old engine might not like a lower viscosity oil, may smoke alot. Also most of the newer diesel 15w-40 oils are quite high in detergents & may break loose deposits in the engine plugging oil returns & filter(s). Check under the valve cover to see if its caked up with "gunk" before adding a good cleansing oil. Just my 2 cents from some bad experiences.
