I am a big fan of the smooth running four cylinder. Whether it be a Farmall, an Allis, a Case, or whatever. The difference in mowing with a four cylinder compared to a JD 2 cylinder is amazing. The problem with the Deeres is the constant surging up and down while mowing with a bush hog. The smoother running four cylinders hold a steadier RPM and are a lot less jerky and surge less when mowing tall stuff. I would take an H or an Allis WD45 over a JD A or B in a second just for th
