up until about three years ago, my grandfather still cultivated with his (now mine) 1940 Farmall A with mounted one row cultivators. my other grandfather also has a John Deere 50 with hand clutch (does not see much use anymore) and a John Deere 3020 that we still have the mounted four row cultivators, and the corn picker for. i agree. too many people get caught up in buying the newest and latest most expensive pieces of equipment. therefore, they cant make a living because they spend all of their profit in monthly payments.
