Bart - A tractor boneyard will probably the best place to find an original IHC 4-way "Christmas Tree") valve. However if you're not a stickler for originality, you can adapt most any 3-position, 4-way open center valve with 1/2" IPT connections. On my SM, the two lines running back from the 4-way terminate in quick disconnect fittings mounted at the rear end of the tractor, just as you suggest. My SM also has Charlynn power steering - that's the flow divider valve you see in the photo ahead (to the right) of the 4-way. The flow divider came with the PS kit when we installed it in the early 70's. Suggest you inquire at your local Eaton Fluid Power (who now owns Charlynn) distributor if you are looking for one for your SMTA. Incidentally that Charlynn power steering works great! Provides nice, easy steering and hasn't given a bit of trouble in 30+ years of service. ...Bob M
