Jake, I agree with the others that the Farmall Letter Series book by Guy Fay is a must as it even shows dimensions on locations of decals. IH basically painted the whole tractor red after it was assembled. The only things they masked off were gauges, distributer cap/wires/plugs, light lenses, steering wheel rim, and seat cover. They painted it with the wheels off. They sprayed everything including the wiring (except ignition), radiator, hoses, shifting knob, everything. As someone else said, I don't paint the tractor like that as I paint the body of the tractor first with the radiator, fuel tank, hood and grill, belts, wiring, seat, and tires/rims off. Then I paint the fuel tank, hood and grill separately. I leave the radiator black as it comes from the radiator shop after cleaning and patching any leaks. I also leave my belts, hoses, and wiring unpainted. Hope this helps. Roger
