I saw actually a 600 which is basically same tractor geared up as a puller with 318 Detroit diesel. This guy is known to do a bit of clowning around. He was in a modified class and they were having trouble getting the sled set to stop him. Finally they decided they had him beat. This pull was being held on harness race track. He went right around the track on them. Story is that the pull officials banned him forever. He did pull in a few other locations but soon disappeared from the sceen. I knew this guy a bit, and was travelling in his area one day, knew he had loads of old Farmall parts, so decided to call on him. The old 600 was parked in the tall grass. Looked like it had been there 5-6 years, with some recent milling around it. He told me it hadn't been started for 5 years and they tried to get it going one day. It started and wouldn't shut down, plus kept accelerating, finally in despiration he grabed the axe and cut the fuel off up near the pump. He figured it was up to about 8-9000 rpm before it shut down. That was 5 years ago, its probably still parked there.

It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership,
