Farmall H throttle lever

I recently purchased a friction-type throttle lever for my H - the original saw-tooth throttle was not holding at higher speeds. When I tried to install the new throttle, I found that the bolt holes on the throttle didn't line up with the mounting holes. I asumed this would be a standard size for all year H's and M's. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix, or do I just send back this throttle and try another?
