No, I haven't tried an other gauge. All I know is that when the engine runs oil just doesn't appear to reach the oil filter cup. After I noticed the gauge indicating zero pressure with the engine idle I changed the oil filter and after running the engine a couple times again filter was still dry and not stained by oil. Now there is one thing. My father always used non detergent oil. A few years ago I decided to use regular detergent oil. I used some stuff (don't remember which exactly, believe it was Bardhal) to clean the engine thoroughly before filling it with new detergent oil. Could the detergent oil have released dirt and crude resulting in a stopped up passage?
