I think the TA will explode even if you don't shift into high while freewheeling if you happen to let it get far enough over speed. I heard a story once at dealers of a guy letting Farmall 460 roll about 40 mph, free wheeling in low TA. There was a 6" x 6" hole in the torque tube housing right where TA is. I am not sure anyone knew for sure exactly what operator did. I was told he panicked. There is a good chance he doesn't know himself what he did. I understand he had about 10 ton on a trailer behind him. 460 with enough chloride and wheel weights would probably handle that as long as you didn't let it get rolling. Depends on hill also.
